Ideas for January

Winter pruning: Now’s the time to prune wisteria, some fruit trees and climbing roses. Additionally, if you haven’t been out properly since the winter snow, you may find damaged trees and shrubs you need to tidy up.

Plan ahead: Choose and order your seeds for your summer annuals and veg.

Assess your winter garden: While twigs are bare and herbaceous plants are dormant, you can see the underlying structure in your garden, and think about making changes over the year to create a garden that keeps its shape in winter.

Book yourself a trip to a snowdrop day: There are hundreds of cultivars of snowdrops with different sizes and patterns, so take the opportunity to find out more and pick your favourite.
