Ideas for August

- Visit gardens with later Summer borders and prairie plantings. Many of these will be at their height, so don’t miss out.
- In the garden: Weeding and Deadheading. It’s the bread and butter of the summer months.
- Planning ahead: Start taking cuttings of tender plants like Pelargoniums. Collect and sow seed of earlier biennials like Foxgloves (Digitalis purpurea).
- Pruning: If you have Wisteria, it may have taken over half the house by now. Cut back the long, green shoots to about 6 buds from the main stem.
